Sue Corcoran loves making movies. Her goal is simple: Empathy = Change. Sue believes a good story can make people feel, which can make people think, which can help people change for the better… even if just a little. As a proud mother of two young girls, Sue wants to create stories that empower them to become first class humans and leaders.
Sue defines bleeding edge and female led. At the start of the millennium, Sue started her own production company which thrives to this day. Von Piglet Productions has helped several fortune 100 companies launch internal episodic series that has pivoted the emotional learning of hundreds of thousands of employees worldwide by capturing their imaginations and engaging them in emotional, character-driven stories. A few examples include Microsoft's "TrustCode", "Insights to Outcomes", "Rise of the Rainmakers" and The Clooney Foundation for Justice's "TrialWatch".
Sue's feature Ira Finkelstein's Christmas starring David DeLuise and Elliott Gould sold to 20th Century Fox and Netflix. And her first feature Gory Gory Hallelujah was distributed worldwide through Netflix after a limited theatrical release and a two year international festival run, winning Best Feature at Shockerfest, the Bravest Feature at The Bend Film Festival by juror Gus Van Sant.
Sue's directorial style has been described as "Felliniesque" by visual effects pioneer Douglas Trumbull (2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Trek, Blade Runner). And her short film Circus of Infinity won Best in Show at the Accolade Awards, Best Short at the Seattle Science Fiction Film Festival and won the Nell Shipman award for Best Short. Sue was also named One to Watch by the Seattle Stranger Genius Awards in Film. Her 88 spot web series for Visa won a National Addy Award.
Sue's other credits include Associate Producer on Lynn Shelton's Humpday (Sundance) starring Mark DuPlass (Room 104) and Megan Griffith's SADIE (SXSW) Starring Melanie Lynsky (Togetherness), Tony Hale (VEEP, John Gallagher Jr (The Network) and Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black). Sue is also the Co-Producer of Wes Hurley's Potato Dreams of America which premiered at SXSW 2021 and is being released by Dark Star Pictures.
Sue is in Pre-Production on her feature script Shooting Palmer, A Female Powered Sci-Fi Comedy about the survival of human creativity in the age of artificial intelligence.
She is also pitching her TV Series The Mess, A teenage feminist alt-rock adventure and a supernatural ghost story.
